FRUTIGER has successfully installed several MobyDick wheel washing systems in the past for a waste management company headquartered in Northampton. Now, another KIT Plus 600MB model plant has been installed in Cambridge, serving as an ideal reference site for potential customers and future projects. After a successful commissioning, some minor adjustments were made to the timers at the request of the customer to suit local conditions and the requirements of the customer’s trucks. Since then, the system has been working perfectly and the customer thanked the FRUTIGER technicians for their quick service and flexibility.

Last week FRUTIGER installed the KIT Flex 400 MC model from the MobyDick ConLine KIT Flex model range at a long-standing customer in Příbram, Czech Republic. This mobile wheel washing system is characterised by a hot-dip galvanised, water-carrying frame with a length of 4 metres, which makes it possible to apply around 2000 litres of water per minute to the dirty wheels. The innovative design means that no extensive earthwork is required, as the washing module and recycling tank can be installed above ground level. Only minimal earthwork is required to set the pump sump. As a result, the system is ready for operation within a few hours and can thoroughly clean up to 100 moderately dirty trucks per day. In this case, delivery and final commissioning were completed within one working day.

More than 12 years ago, FRUTIGER introduced the ConLine (Construction Line) line of whel washing systems and has continued to develop them ever since. In the meantime, several thousand ConLine systems have been sold worldwide, making ConLine probably the best-selling wheel washing system in the world. This is no coincidence, because in addition to an attractive price-performance ratio and uncomplicated installation, the systems are also characterised by their robustness and ease of maintenance.

The unit impresses not only with its efficiency, but also with remarkably low noise emissions.

MobyDick’s Cannon Line dust control systems work on the proven principle of dust control by means of extremely fine water droplets. The use of a modern high-pressure pump in combination with a high-performance filter system, special nozzles and an aerodynamically shaped high-performance cone (turbine) ensures optimum size and distribution of the water droplets.

Recently, a MobyDick ConLine KIT Plus 800C-50P wheel washing system was successfully installed in a Czech quarry. The plant has a generous 50m3 recycling tank and is capable of cleaning the tyres of up to 250 moderately dirty trucks daily. To ensure safety, a safety railing was installed around the tank, which is embedded in the ground and serves as a reliable fall protection. A scraper conveyor was integrated for automatic discharge of the washed-off dirt in the recycling tank. The control cabinet and the dosing pump for the automatic use of flocculant are housed in a specially insulated and heated container to ensure optimum protection against adverse weather conditions. An additional traffic light system ensures smooth operation.

The East Gate of Fangcheng Port functions as the main exit for cargo vehicles, and the port’s managers attach great importance to the cleanliness of the surrounding roads. To meet this high demand and the frequencies of around 4,000 moderately dirty trucks, Frutiger China commissioned two MobyDick wheel washing systems, each 17 metres long, from the port.
