Lanshan Port Project – One of the World’s Largest Wheel Washing Installations

Five years ago, FRUTIGER Company AG delivered a wheel washing system for the export gate of Lanshan Port. Located on the eastern coast of China in Shandong Province, Lanshan Port is a major bulk cargo hub between the cities of Rizhao and Lianyungang. With its strategic position on the Yellow Sea, the port plays a central role in China’s maritime logistics network, especially for bulk commodities such as minerals, coal and liquid cargo.

Following a major redesign of the gate roads, the customer commissioned a completely new system this year.
The new installation – engineered and realized by our Chinese subsidiary – is among the largest wheel washing systems worldwide. It reflects a scale and performance level that no other supplier with a European headquarters and Swiss quality standards is able to offer globally.

Designed for 3,500 wheel wash cycles per day, the system features:
• Two fully independent lanes
• A 20-meter cleaning section
• A 20-meter drainage section

Given the extremely high truck frequency and strict environmental requirements at one of China’s most important bulk ports, this new wheel washing system will significantly increase operational efficiency and improve contamination control at the export gate.
The system is currently under installation.
